Nedbank IMC Conference 2023 | Loud on Social

DIGITAL

The renowned Nedbank IMC Conference recently unfolded, in person and online, from Urban Brew Studios in Johannesburg. The day was filled with uniquely African Insights, as well as informed international points of view, discussing the latest in Marketing and Advertising - solidifying its position as Africa's premier marketing event.

Welcoming an eager audience of over 2,000 delegates, this year's conference showcased an electrifying mix of industry stalwarts, fresh talent, and global marketing luminaries, underscoring the event's commitment to fostering dynamic insights and youth upliftment.

A Day of Inspiration and Innovation

Anchored by the comedic finesse of Donovan Goliath, the conference buzzed with energy as an array of marketing powerhouses and thought leaders graced the stage. From the captivating opening address by South African personality Pearl Thusi on authenticity, to the insightful closing remarks by Allison Knapp Womack, the COO at Effies Worldwide, the day was filled with diverse perspectives, innovative strategies, and insightful learnings

We heard from Doug Place on how Nando’s, McDonald’s, and KFC came together to feed the nation in it’s time of need during the pandemic; Zoe Scaman on the latest trends in User Generated Content and how consumers are looking to brands for reciprocal value exchanges; and Roanna Williams on how ‘Creativity CAN change the world’. Nick Law, Global Creative Chairperson at Accenture Song, took the audience through his visionary 7 Pillars for the Future of Creativity, and other international speakers like Orlando Wood, Arun Sudhaman, and Shayoni Lynn discussed People Centric Leadership and Getting Up Close & Personal with the Future of Leadership. There were so many more fabulous speakers, and delegates who attended could rewatch their talks via the Nedbank IMC Conference App for 3 months after the event.

Highlighting the conference's dedication to nurturing emerging talent, the Nedbank IMC Conference was also thrilled to hear from top Red&Yellow student, Anganathi Beyile, who shared his insights on marketing and moved the audience with his pure passion. Emphasizing the conference's commitment to youth upliftment, IMC CEO Dale Hefer reiterated the event's ongoing efforts to empower and support promising young minds, a commitment underscored by the awarding of ten tertiary bursaries since the conference's inception in 2019.

Behind the Scenes with the Loud Team

We always love being behind the scenes of an event. Seeing the photographer (shout out to Gareth Jacobs) running around to get the best shots of the venue, stage, speakers, and attendees – he did a fabulous job – was a highlight and made our job of posting engaging social media content that much easier.

As we listened to the event from a separate media room, we were focused on trying to find the moments of the conference that were the most insightful and “shareable”. We heard some wonderful quotes and created content that was shared across the Nedbank IMC Conference social media profiles, including: Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and TikTok.

Our efforts paid off as we saw over 52,000 social media impressions, 3,300+ engagements, and over 1,500 pieces of user generated content about the conference on the day. We loved seeing everyone share photos and stories of what they found valuable, and how much they enjoyed networking with other great minds in marketing and advertising.

We’d like to thank Nedbank IMC Conference for trusting us with their social media. We loved being there on the day to celebrate the shared spirit of innovation, collaboration, and transformative vision that so many of the speakers spoke of. We hope to see you again next year!
